REFLECTIONS Alex Lee Rose
This body of work emerged from an ongoing pursuit of truth—a search for God, and an engagement with the histories, ideas, and revelations encountered along the way. It brings together those discoveries, uncertainties, and moments of absence in all their complexity: the convictions that endured, the questions that remained, and the beliefs and insights ultimately gained or left behind.
These paintings are an exploration of consciousness, spirituality, the human condition, and the unseen forces that shape our perceptions, influence our experiences, and quietly operate throughout our everyday lives. Throughout the work, wings, armor, and a restrained palette of rich earth tones serve as recurring symbols, while figures emerge through passages of both meticulous rendering and loose, instinctive brushwork.
Ultimately, this exhibition is the culmination of five years devoted to painting—a convergence of everything I have learned, questioned, discarded, and refined. Each work reflects not only the evolution of my technical practice, but also the ongoing pursuit to give form to experiences and insights that often exist beyond language.
Alex Lee Rose is a figurative painter and writer from the New Jersey and New York City area. Working primarily in oil, pastel, and charcoal, his practice explores consciousness, spirituality, and the human condition.
Through a dynamic and steadily evolving visual language, Rose creates works that give physical form to ideas and experiences that often exist beyond language, inviting viewers into conversations that are both deeply personal and universally resonant.
